INTRODUCTION

The Ather 450 Apex is a special edition electric scooter that celebrates Ather’s ten years of existence. It is not commercially targeted, but more of a passion project. The Apex marks the ceiling on how far the current platform can be pushed within safe thermodynamic limits. Power is up by about ten percent, now at 7kW, and the 450 can finally hit a top speed of 100kph. The scooter gets a new Warp+ mode that replaces the regular 450X’s Warp mode, and acceleration is stronger as well. The Ather 450 Apex also features Magic Twist, a regen function where you can twist the accelerator backwards and the scooter progressively slows right down to a halt. The Ather 450 Apex STD is an electric scooter that comes with a 7000 W PMSM motor and a battery range of 157 km per charge. The scooter has a charging time of 5.45 hours and is equipped with fast charging capability. The braking system is a combined braking system with disc brakes on both the front and rear wheels. The scooter has a digital instrument console that displays the speedometer, odometer, clock, and other important information. It also has a Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity feature that enables mobile connectivity. The scooter has a keyless ignition system and a push-button start. The LED tail light and digital speedometer are some of the other features of the Ather 450 Apex STD .

The Ather 450 Apex comes with a 5-year or 60,000 km battery warranty and a 3-year charger warranty. The scooter also includes a portable home charger that takes 5.45 hours to charge the battery. The scooter has a mobile application that enables users to locate charging stations, make calls and send messages, and receive low battery alerts. The app also provides navigation assistance.

The Ather 450 Apex STD has a gradeability of 20 degrees and a motor IP rating of IP66. They work on creating intelligent electric vehicles that will shape urban commutes and the cities of tomorrow. The company was born in 2013 by Tarun Mehta and Swapnil Jain. Ather Energy began operations at its Hosur, Tamil Nadu production facility on 2 January 2021. The current Ather factory has an annual capacity of 1,10,000+ scooters and 1,20,000+ battery packs. The company is in 27+ cities and 15+ states and rapidly growing. Ather Energy also established Ather Grid, an electric vehicle charging infrastructure in the cities it is present. The company has installed over 1000+ fast charging points in 23 cities as of February 2023 in India.

>Since around 2014, the company has received various investments from individuals and top companies like Hero Motocorp. The latest was in July 2020, Ather Energy raised $11.4 million from Hero MotoCorp, as a part of its Series C round funding. In November 2020, Ather Energy raised a fresh round of ₹260 crores (US$33 million) as a part of a Series D round, led by Sachin Bansal’s investment of ₹170 crores (US$21 million) and $12 million by Hero MotoCorp.

Currently, Two models are available, Ather 450 X and 450 S, Earlier, there was one more model, Ather 450 Plus, but it was discontinued recently. More than three generations of Ather 450X models are now launched with more features and updates.
