HARLEY DAVIDSON STREET GLIDE SPECIAL OVERVIEW

From the big batwing fairing, hard case panniers, and wide floorboards to keep your feet planted, the street glide special is every inch of the big tourer it is supposed to be. The Street Glide Special gets power from a 1868cc V-twin that churns out a hefty 158Nm torque and 3250 rpm. The engine mates to a six-speed sequential gearbox which sends power to the rear wheel via chain drive. It gets a standard suspension set-up in front and rear with 300mm discs.

In terms of dimensions, this Harley Davidson is 2425mm long, has a seat height of 690mm, weighs 375 kilograms and with a fuel capacity of 22.7 litres. It also gets an updated touchscreen with built-in navigation—AM/FM radio, and hands-free phone connectivity. The full-colour screen is surprisingly responsive and has smartphone connectivity too. You can even use the touch screen with gloved fingers. Street Glide Special is available in only one variant and four colours (Black, Chrome-Black, Red and Grey). This bike sells in India as a complete built-up (CBU), and that’s why it attracts hefty import tax. In terms of competition, there’s the Honda Gold Wing.
