YO Drift DX OVERVIEW & PRICE
Yo Drift DX is a slightly premium electric scooter from the brand and looks a bit sportier than the Edge DX, made for family use. It is a full-electric environment-friendly e-scooter for middle-class consumers in tier 2, 3, and rural areas. Yo Drift DX has dual LED headlights on the front apron and LED DRLs, making it more visually appealing.
There are two variants of the Yo Drift DX, the base variant comes with VRLA lead-acid battery pack, and the top variant comes with an advanced lithium-ion battery pack. Yo Drift is slightly larger than the Edge DX, with a length of 1810mm and a width of 700 mm; the wheelbase is 1320mm, which is more than sufficient for an entry-level electric scooter. The ground clearance is 160 mm, enough for the road conditions we all face in Indian cities.
At the heart of the Yo Drift DX is a hub-mounted BLDC motor that puts out a max power of 250 Watts, pushing the scooter to a top speed of 25kmph. This motor gets its current from two battery types in two different variants – VRLA and Lithium-ion battery. The total charge capacity on both variants is similar at 1.2 kWh, which promises a riding range of up to 60 km on a single charge.
One can charge the Yo Drift DX at their home power terminal by connecting it to the charger with the scooter. The VRLA battery takes 7 to 8 hours to fully charge, while the lithium-ion battery needs only 3 to 4 hours. Lithium-ion technology, though expensive, is more practical and lasts more than double the VRLA battery’s life.
The Drift DX rides on 10-inch wheels at both ends, with tubeless tires. A pair of telescopic forks at the front and twin spring-loaded shock absorbers with a hydraulic damper at the rear suspend the scooter. There are five color options: White, White with Dark Green, White with Red, White with Black, and White with Blue. The brand offers three years warranty on the battery, the controller, and the converter for peace of mind. The current ex-showroom YO Drift DX price is ₹ 51,000.
