The Kawasaki KLX 450R is Kawasaki’s purpose-built off-road race motorcycle, available as a CBU (complete built unit) in India. Kawasaki has also tweaked the engine for better low-end torque, which makes it easier to get out of tricky situations. It gets a 449cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that comes mated to a five-speed gearbox. This engine cradles a lightweight aluminium perimeter frame that works in tandem with long travel upside-down forks at the front and a mono-shock at the rear.
The Braking duties are taken care of by the single semi-floating 250mm petal disc at the front and a single 240mm petal disc at the rear. It gets a Carburetor fuel system and forced lubrication, semi-dry sump. It has both kick and electric as starting. The other features that come with this motorcycle are LED rear light, digital instrumentation, inverted telescopic front fork and digital AC-CDI ignition.
It is available in only one variant and one colour. The latest edition of the bike comes draped in a new Lime Green colour option comprising a new set of decals. This KLX450R bike weighs 126 kg and has a fuel tank capacity of 8 litres.
