OLA S1 AIR OVERVIEW & PRICE
The much-waited Ola S1 Air is out now with exciting prices and features. This scooter is an evolution of entry-level electric scooters. Let’s have a look at its features and specifications. Firstly, the styling of the Ola S1 Air is the same as the Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro, with a few subtle tweaks like blacked-out lower panels and the flat floor. There is more space to place your foot, so the taller rider also gets a comfortable riding position.
The pillion grab handle is simple in design and gets steel wheels there. The reason for the latter is that it gets a hub motor. Yes, the Ola S1 Air has a hub motor with a peak power of 80PS for a 2.5KW battery that claims a 40kmps acceleration time of 4.3 sec. The top speed is also relatively healthy, with 85kmph. Without compromising on performance, this scooter has shed 25kilos from S1 Pro because of its motor and battery.
The Ola S1 Air gives a riding range of 101km on a full charge in an eco mode which is decent for a city slicker. In the suspension department, the fancy single-arm shock of the S1 makes way for a more conventional telescopic fork at the front, and a twin shock and swing arm arrangement is made at the rear because it is running a hot motor. Braking is taken care of by the drum brakes at both ends, taking the dramatic step backwards in safety.
Lastly, The Ola S1 Air retains nearly all the features of the Ola S1 Pro 34 litres of boot space, a large touchscreen, navigation, speakers, and riding modes. Only a few things like hyper mode, kill hole assist, and other minute features misses will be fed. It comes in five colours- Blue, White, Red, Black and Grey. The current ex-showroom Ola S1 Air price is ₹ 1,19,000.
OLA S1 AIR VERDICT
PROS
- Gets a Hub motor
- Has a top speed of 85kmpl

About OLA Electric Scooters
Ola Electric Mobility is an Indian electric two-wheeler manufacturer based in Bangalore. The manufacturing plant is located in Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu, India. The establishment of Ola Electric started in 2017 as a wholly-owned subsidiary of ANI Technologies, the parent entity of Ola Cabs. The motto for the start of this company was to reduce the emission and fuel dependency of Ola’s cabs and shift to mass electric mobility.
The factory is spread over a 500-acre, fully-automated factory in Pochampalli town in the Krishnagiri district of Tamil Nadu. In December 2020, the company announced its plan to set up an electric scooter manufacturing plant in Tamil Nadu for ₹2,400 crores after signing a memorandum with the Government of Tamil Nadu. Ola Future factory produced its first electric two-wheeler on 15 August 2021. The factory has been manufacturing nearly 1000+ electric scooters from 2022 onwards.
While talking fundraising and investments, the company raised over 200 million dollars from Falcon Edge, SoftBank Group etc., at a valuation of 3 billion dollars in September 2021. In December of the same year, Ola Electric raised $53 million in investment from a Singaporean holding company Temasek. Ola Electric raised 200 million US dollars from multiple investors at a valuation of 5 billion US dollars in January 2022. In late March 2022, Ola invested in Israel-based battery technologies company StoreDot to incorporate and manufacture its XFC (extreme fast charging) battery technologies in India.
The current portfolio of Ola consists of three models – Ola S1, Ola S1 Pro and Ola S1 Air. Ola S1 was launched in 2020, Ola S1 Pro in 2022 and Ola S1 Air in 2023. Among these models, Ola S1 Air is the most affordable model, while Ola S1 Pro has the most features and performance.
