  3. Compression Ratio: 11.0:1
  4. Fuel System: Closed-loop 52 mm dual-bore electronic fuel injection

This layout delivers massive low-end grunt for city riding and strong mid-range roll-on for effortless overtakes on the open road.

  1. Gearbox: 6-speed manual
  2. Primary Drive: Gear drive
  3. Clutch: Wet, multi-plate with assist

FUEL EFFICIENCY & MILEAGE

Indian Motorcycle does not supply a factory fuel-economy rating. Early rider feedback in mixed urban and highway use suggests real-world figures in the 14–16 km/l range, depending on load, riding style, and conditions.

BUILD QUALITY

At its core, the Pursuit Limited is built on a lightweight cast-aluminium frame that provides exceptional rigidity and helps keep overall mass—and thus curb weight—manageable for a full-dress bagger. The chassis-mounted fairing further enhances stability and wind protection at speed.Premium hardware such as Brembo® four-piston radial-mount front callipers, dual 320 mm rotors, and Metzeler Cruisetec tyres ensure both stopping power and road-holding grip. In contrast, 19″ front and 16″ rear Sport Contrast Cut alloy wheels add strength with style.

HANDLING

The Indian Pursuit Limited employs a chassis-mounted fairing, inverted front forks and a cast-aluminium frame to deliver rock-solid stability at speed. Riders can fine-tune the preload on the electronically adjustable Fox® rear suspension to match solo or two-up riding conditions. The Smart Lean® Technology—leveraging a Bosch® IMU—optimizes traction control, ABS and torque delivery through lean angles for confident cornering. On-road aids such as selectable riding modes, dual-channel ABS and traction control further enhance rider confidence by tailoring throttle response and braking intervention to different surfaces and weather conditions.

COMFORT

Designed with long-distance touring in mind, the Pursuit Limited prioritizes rider and passenger comfort. Features include:

  1. Heated Seats: Both rider and passenger seats are heated, with controls accessible via the seat or the 7-inch touchscreen.
  2. Adjustable Wind Protection: An electronically adjustable windshield and vented fairing allow for customizable airflow and protection against the elements.
  3. Spacious Storage: Over 133 litres of weatherproof, remote-locking storage accommodates ample luggage for extended journeys.

Additional amenities such as cruise control, keyless ignition, and a 200-watt audio system enhance the touring experience. Owners praise its plush ergonomics and spacious seating position, noting that “the riding experience is too good as its seating position” and deem it a “perfect choice” for long-distance comfort.

STYLING

The Pursuit Limited exudes a blend of classic and modern aesthetics. Its sleek lines, chrome accents, and LED lighting elements, including the Pathfinder Adaptive LED Headlight, offer both form and function. It caters to diverse stylistic preferences and is available in various colours, such as Sunset Red Metallic and Spirit Blue Metallic.

COLOR OPTIONS & VARIANTS

The Pursuit Limited is offered in four vibrant factory finishes:

  1. Black Metallic
  2. Sunset Red Metallic
  3. Titanium/Black Metallic
  4. Spirit Blue Metallic

The Pursuit Limited lineup comprises two primary trims:

  1. Indian Pursuit Limited with PowerBand® Audio Package (adds the upgraded 200 W PowerBand 2.0 sound system).

Within these, Indian dealer networks further divide the trims into 19 distinct variants, combining different colours and accessory packages to suit individual preferences.

VALUE FOR MONEY & PRICING

Ex-showroom prices for Indian Pursuit Limited start from ₹42.03 lakhs, and the Top End ranges up to ₹47 lakhs and above. At these levels, buyers receive:

When benchmarked against similarly priced offerings, the Pursuit Limited delivers a comprehensive touring package—luxury comfort, advanced infotainment, and American V-twin character—representing substantial value for its segment.

In India’s premium touring space, some of the key rivals include:

  1. Honda Gold Wing
  2. Harley-Davidson Street Glide
  3. BMW K 1600 Series

Each competitor brings its own strengths—be it Honda’s DCT smoothness, BMW’s engineering finesse or Harley’s brand legacy—but the Pursuit Limited stands out with its blend of traditional American styling, cutting-edge audio/infotainment and chassis-mounted touring capability at a comparable price point.

INDIAN PURSUIT LIMITED VERDICT

The Indian Pursuit Limited is a top-tier American bagger with a 1,768 cc PowerPlus® V-twin engine and a sturdy cast-aluminium frame for long-ride stability. It offers touring comforts like heated seats, remote-locking hard saddlebags, electronically adjustable suspension, and a 7″ Ride Command® touchscreen with Apple CarPlay®. Owners appreciate its comfortable ergonomics and extensive features, making long-distance travel feel effortless with plenty of storage and refined suspension. However, potential buyers should consider its high price, heavy 416 kg curb weight—which can feel cumbersome in city traffic—and modest fuel economy under aggressive riding. The Pursuit Limited is an impressive, feature-rich American bagger that blends modern technology with a classic V-twin character.

PROS

  • Massive Low-End Torque & Smooth Power Delivery : The liquid-cooled V-twin churns 178 Nm at 3,800 rpm. This provides effortless acceleration from a stop and strong mid-range roll-on for highway overtakes.
  • Rock-Solid Stability : The chassis-mounted fairing, cast-aluminium frame, and optional electronically adjustable Fox® rear suspension combine to deliver planted handling, even at triple-digit speeds.
  • Luxury Comfort Features : Heated rider and passenger seats, keyless ignition, cruise control, and 133 L of remote-locking weatherproof storage make multi-day touring a pleasure rather than a chore.
  • Premium Infotainment & Audio : The 7″ Ride Command® touchscreen supports Apple CarPlay®, turn-by-turn navigation. It controls a 200 W PowerBand™ audio system with dynamic EQ for clear sound at any speed.
  • Refined Transmission & Quiet Shifting : Owners praise the six-speed gearbox for its smooth, nearly silent shifts, especially during relaxed cruising where the overdrive sixth gear keeps RPMs low.

CONS

  • Substantial weight (416 kg Kerb) : While contributing to highway stability, the Pursuit Limited’s heft can make low-speed manoeuvres and tight U-turns cumbersome, demanding extra care from the rider.
  • Downshift Responsiveness : During aggressive deceleration, the engine braking feedback can feel muted, with less immediate response when shifting down compared to some competitors.
  • Limited Android Auto Support : Unlike its seamless Apple CarPlay® integration, Android Auto requires aftermarket modifications, which may inconvenience riders who prefer Android devices.

About INDIAN MOTORCYCLES

Indian Motorcycle is an American brand originally established in 1901 in Springfield, Massachusetts, and gained prominence as a leading motorcycle manufacturer. Founded by George M. Hendee and Oscar Hedstrom, both former bicycle racers and manufacturers, the company transitioned to motorcycles and swiftly rose to success. The first Indian Motorcycles prototype was built in 1901, and by 1902, they introduced their motorcycles to the public. With innovations like chain drives and a distinctive deep red color introduced in 1904, Indian motorcycles gained popularity, reaching an annual production peak of 32,000 in 1913. The brand made history by clinching the top three positions in the 1911 Isle of Man Tourist Trophy.

Despite its early success, Indian Motorcycle Company faced financial challenges and underwent various ownership changes. The company eventually went bankrupt in the 1950s, leading to a hiatus in production. In 2011, Indian Motorcycle was revived by Polaris Industries, a leading power sports manufacturer. The brand was relaunched with a new lineup of motorcycles that paid homage to its classic designs while incorporating modern technology and engineering.
