Vida is an electric mobility brand from Hero MotoCorp, created to change the way people move in India’s cities. The name Vida means “life” in Spanish and Portuguese, showing the brand’s commitment. Vida’s goal is to help build a cleaner, greener future with its electric scooters and EV ecosystem.

History and Growth

Hero MotoCorp officially launched Vida on October 7, 2022, introducing India’s first fully integrated electric scooter brand. The technology and design came from Hero’s R&D centres in Jaipur and Germany. Vida started with an integrated scooter platform, along with new services and a vast charging network.

Initially, Vida focused on establishing its brand and forming strategic partnerships. It quickly moved to making and delivering hundreds of thousands of scooters. The company experienced rapid growth in India’s EV market, resulting in strong sales and increased acceptance among urban customers.

  5. August 2025:Building on recent successes, Vida surpassed 100,000 electric scooter sales in India, strengthening its presence in the EV market.
  6. Late 2025:Vida introduced Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) subscription plans to enhance affordability and flexibility for Indian customers, further advancing its offerings.
  7. November 2025:Vida achieved record monthly sales of 15,934 units and launched the Vida Novus portfolio, featuring new advanced electric vehicles, including the Nex and Ubex series, marking another significant milestone in its timeline.

Manufacturing Facilities

Vida electric scooters are made at Hero MotoCorp’s Garden Factory in Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh. The factory utilises modern technology and rigorous quality control measures to support large-scale production.

The factory benefits from Hero’s long experience in making two-wheelers and EV parts. This helps ensure the scooters are reliable and perform well.

  1. Vida has established itself as a leading electric scooter brand in India. The company holds a market share exceeding 10% in the electric two-wheeler segment.
  2. Vida uses competitive pricing and the Battery-as-a-Service model, making its scooters some of the most affordable and accessible options for customers.
  3. Vida has expanded its network to over 600 service centres across more than 400 cities in India.
  4. The VX2 series, which includes the VX2 Go and VX2 Plus, has boosted sales and encouraged more people to choose Vida scooters.

  6. Since its launch, Vida has delivered over 141,000 e-scooters by 2025, making it a key player in India’s electric mobility market.
