HERO SUPER SPLENDOR XTEC OVERVIEW & PRICE

The Hero Super Splendor XTEC is a more premium version of the Hero Super Splendor. Hero MotoCorp has powered it with the same 125cc engine found on Hero Super Splendor instead of the conventional 100cc and 110cc motors seen in its younger siblings. It is known for its durability, reliability and fuel efficiency. Besides the same engine, the Super Splendor also gets slightly fancier graphics, colours and new alloy rim tape styling.

Apart from restyling the headlamp, bikini fairing, fuel tank, under-seat and tail panels, the motorcycle also received new decals. The Super Splendor is 2,042mm long, 752mm wide and 1,092mm tall. The wheelbase measures 1,267mm with an impressive ground clearance of 180mm. The bike has a fuel tank that can hold 12 litres of petrol. The kerb weight of the bike is 123kg.

Replacing the previous double-cradle frame is a new diamond chassis for improved manoeuvrability. Riding on 18-inch wheels and tubeless tyres, the Super Splendor XTEC is suspended by telescopic forks and 5-step adjustable hydraulic shock absorbers. Drum brakes handle braking at both ends, with a disc brake as an option in the front.

The Super Splendor XTEC gets a 125cc, fuel-injected engine that produces 10.7bhp of power at 7,500rpm and 10.6Nm of torque at 6,000rpm. This engine mates to a four-speed gearbox and has i3s technology for the extra mileage and Auto sail feature for a smooth ride in city traffic. Some of the exciting features of this bike are the full digital console, Bluetooth, Call / SMS alert, integrated USB charger, etc. The Super Splendor is available in India in two variants, drum brakes and front disc, which boast an electric start as standard. The current ex-showroom Hero Super Splendor XTEC price is ₹ 85,178.

Hero Honda Group decided to discontinue the joint venture between Hero and Honda in a phased manner in December 2010, and Honda continued to provide technical assistance till 2014. The company’s name was rechristened from Hero Honda Motors Limited to Hero MotoCorp Limited on 29th July 2011. The British firm Wolff Olins developed the new brand identity and logo of Hero MotoCorp. After the company rename Hero, Motocorp can now export its products to Latin America, Africa, and West Asia. Hero Motocorp can now use any vendor for its components beyond Honda-approved ones.
