TVS XL 100 OVERVIEW & PRICE
The TVS XL 100 is extremely popular as a delivery service vehicle in urban areas due to its affordability and manoeuvrability. Purchasers in the rural market in south India enjoy its robust nature and large load-carrying capacity. The BS6-compliant 99.7cc single-cylinder air-cooled motor now has fuel injection and produces 4.4PS/6.5Nm. This output is identical to that of its BS4 predecessor. On the plus side, fuel injection claims increased fuel efficiency by 15%.
The engine connects to a single-speed gearbox through a centrifugal clutch, eliminating the need for rider input. The XL100 BS6 comes with an ISG starting; machine kills button, USB charger, and LED DRL, among other features. The moped now has fuel injection to comply with BS6 pollution standards, making it the cheapest fuel-injected two-wheeler in India. TVS has included a low fuel level warning light on the cluster and a check engine light for convenience.
The XL100’s basic design has stayed unchanged for decades, with the same utilitarian moped appearance bearing the test of time. The Heavy Duty models have a more tough appearance with split seats and fork gaiters, whilst the Comfort models have a more posh and urban style with a single-seat in a dual-tone scheme.
Heavy Duty variants have slightly beefier shock absorbers more suited to supporting heavy loads, whilst the Comfort variant has a softer configuration. At both ends, 110mm drum brakes and CBS are used for braking. Weight is up 3kg on the BS6 versions, to 88 and 89kg, for the Comfort and Heavy Duty variants, respectively. The current ex-showroom TVS XL 100 price is ₹ 44,000.
